As soon as our minds start evaluating life, we begin to learn suffering. We are separated from our parents, as we have to go to school or daycare. We dreamed of a specific toy, we counted down days until Christmas, only to find disappointment. Plans fall through. In our later years, we find heartbreak, we gain love and loss. We learn what letting ourselves down feels like. We learn suffering from a variety of definitions. The question is, do these definitions define who you are?
