We will never obtain a mutual agreement with another if we don’t have the understanding that we will never completely understand anyone’s view besides our own, we have only walked in our own shoes. We can assume that who another is today, is actually who they are. We may assume that they don’t understand; Or that they could understand more. But it could actually be that if we assume anything of another, we are actually the ones that could afford to understand more.
When we assume what we do not know, we are making a choice of emotion over intelligence. This reminds me of when I know that I don’t have enough funds to buy something, yet, I buy it anyway. I am choosing emotional security over intelligence. As do we choose when we assume that a person’s character is strictly who they are, we are choosing our understanding above our intelligence. I mean, we can’t actually know it all.
