Brock’s Thoughts #1

I see people so afraid to fail. So afraid to make a mistake. It’s as if they believe a life is only valuable in perfection. As if they get to bring a report card to the next. I believe a life is valued by how it is perfected. In how it is explored and cultivated. There is a big difference between failing and identifying with failure. It is through failure that we succeed. It is through falling that life is best tested and won. With one life, wouldn’t the most optimal position be to thrust upon the world what’s not been done? To run through existence embracing the unknown? To leave one’s mark in the expanse of possibilities? No, failure is not to be avoided. It is a gift gracing our souls with compounding wisdom. I’ve learned to win by learning how to lose. By not being afraid to lose, because I’ve won either way.
