I have read Mark 12 multiple times, but it hit me new today! My description of it as Jesus fighting the church’s understanding of their misinterpretations. They were going by rules, whereas God was trying to teach us a relationship with him!
It speaks about the vinedresser, I couldn’t help but to think about all the times that I made the same mistake over and over, while not trusting in an outcome that had nothing to do with me. “NOTHING TO DO WITH ME”, as in God’s infinite plan is always going to win.
(10) And have ye not read this scripture;
‘The stone which the builders
rejected
Is become the head of the
corner:
(11) This was the Lord’s
doing,
And it is marvellous in our
eyes?”
Why do I get my panties in a bunch when things don’t work out as I planned? Especially considering Jesus told us that the last will finish first! Let us not forget the greatest commandments!
(29) And Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: (30) and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. (31) And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

It is important to understand that we can only love others with the love that we carry inside. If we hate ourselves, loving others will be difficult. If we are hard on ourselves, we will have a hard time being easy on others. If we have a hard time judging ourselves, we will have a difficult time having empathy for others.
I was thinking today about how loving ourselves was left out of scripture. You see I was an atheist for 17 years. As an atheist, you try to love, but it’s a superficial replica. It wasn’t until I received God that I knew how vain my love was. The closer I come to God, the more refined I get, the more my love has flourished, love for myself and for others. Relationships mend, my life begins to change.
This is important to really grasp! My pastor at The Ridge Church Daniel Judy hit me hard with a statement he made, he said, if you want to know your relationship with God look at your relationship with others. I was still battling with trauma which darkened my view of myself, which kept me standoffish with others.
Glory to God that he gives us a supernatural view of who we are that has healing powers. I thank God that he transforms our hearts and our world!
Blessings my friends!
